Since I haven't written in a couple weeks, here is a simple list of things happening in life in no particular order.

  1. The spring planting season has started. We've been starting seeds for several weeks, but now its time for them to move out into the field. We had one major frost scare which led to some last-minute frost cloth, but so far, things are doing well out in the ground. They'll really start to shoot up soon.
  2. School is winding down. We have about three weeks left and I'm working hard to keep my energy up for classes. Students are starting to check out (some were surprised that yes, we are still learning chemistry before the final exam) and having seniors finish much earlier than the rest of the school doesn't help the underclassmen continue to work hard on new material.
  3. I've been riding my bike more. I've got about 65 miles in over 6 rides so far with a very windy ride yesterday. They've all felt good and I'm looking forward to more consistent riding this summer (last summer was not good). My wife and I will take a trail ride for our anniversary again this year which is becoming an annual tradition for us.
  4. We finally poured concrete in the barn. The real floor will be a wonderful upgrade for this year's growing season.
  5. I'm starting a deep dive into solar power. I don't know if its feasible yet, but that may be our next big upgrade on the farm to help offset some of our summer electricity costs (coolers for flowers are expensive).
